The Winter season can be busy and exciting. Along with many events like marriage, holidays, parties, festivals & the new year, we have various interferences to keep us focused on our health. With winter chill, peoples tend to avoid going outdoors and skip the gym. With shorter days and colder weather, it is difficult to motivate to stay healthy and fit. During the winter holidays, we are busy finalizing tour plans, cleaning, shopping and fulfilling family needs, but during this period we forgot about our health and forgot to highlight our healthy routines. It is also necessary to maintain a healthy diet and exercise routines to avoid illness. It is estimated that up to 20% of the US population suffered from cold & flu every year. During winter there is more chance to develop cold & flu than any other season.
Here, are some simple diet and exercise tips to stay healthy and fit during the winter season.
1. Keep hydrated
Water contains up to 60% of body weight and when we feel thirsty, we are probably 1-2% dehydrated. Hydration is essential every time, but important when dry air tends to destroy air moisture. For regular hydration, carry a water bottle and also ask for refills at restaurants. Herbal tea also considers water, so making an evening ritual of sipping herbal tea with chamomile fennel seed & marshmallow root.2. Eat a healthy diet
Maintaining a good healthy
diet and a minimal amount of proteins is another way to keep your body healthy
and in good working order. Try to eat extra fruits & vegetables every day too.

4. Bodyweight management
Peoples feel lethargic or tired during winter. This leads to you avoiding your fitness rule and this extremely harm your health. You must regularly do yoga & work out for at least 30 min every day. This also helps you to burn extra calories.
5. Wash your hands regularly
Washing hand regularly prevent you and helps to fight bacteria’s and viruses. This also keeps the bacteria & virus away from your hands & your mouth & eyes. If you do not get soap & water, keep a bottle of hand sanitiser with you.
6. Take vitamin D from the sun
Sunshine & daylight will provide a boost in energy & Vitamin D from the sun help to regulate the immune system. Before going into the sunlight, apply sunscreen on the skin because harmful rays can damage your skin.
7. Plan Your Exercises
Always try to follow a weekly exercise plan, so you don’t postpone your regular exercise activities. On every weekend, plan your exercise schedule for next week. Select your exact workout routines, exercises for each day. Line up your schedule with a friend to motivate each other to stick with it.
8. Recover Quickly
Despite many efforts, you still feel that you are
coming down with something. You should do something to recover your body more
quickly.
- Don’t consume alcohol.
- Increase your vitamin C intake.
- Increase in water consumption.
- Eliminate dairy products from your diet.
- Take more rest than normal. If you normally sleep 6 hours /night, try to
sleep 7 to 8 hours.
